Cad yellow hue

Yellow ochre

Cad red light (hue)

Alizarin crimson

Ultramarine blue

Pthalo blue

Burnt sienna

Black( mars)

Brushes:

Nothing too fancy here. Buying a small and medium flat and a a few different sized round brushes will do. We will go over brushes the first class as well.

"Canvas"
Stretched canvas is find but you are welcome to use primed panel (MDF, Masonite, plywood) I don't recommend canvas boards as they are a struggle to work with.  We will go over all the various supports for painting in the first class. I also recommend nothing smaller than 8"x10"

Additional supplies:  Large jar, Gamsol or order less mineral spirits, Rags, Palette (large disposable is recommended)

**Materials can be found locally at Artist & Craftsman in Portland, ME and Saugus (north of Boston) <DIRECTIONS HERE

OR online at Dickblick.com (don't forget to check for coupons!)

Limit: 6 Students

Instructor: Jeremy Miranda
The aim of this class is to provide both beginner and intermediate students with all the necessary parts to establishing and strengthening a foundation in observational painting. We will explore color mixing, materials and a multitude of painting techniques through painting still lives and using reference. Each class will begin with a demonstration from by the instructor and will end with a brief group discussion. Open to oil painters.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Jeremy Miranda lives and works in Dover, NH. His current work combines elements of landscape/seascape with manmade architectural elements in an attempt to generate a fragmented narrative experience much like a memory that has been distorted and rewritten over time.
