Limit: 5 Students

Instructor: Elise Robichaud
This introductory course will focus on various methods of non-toxic etching including soft and hard ground as well as adding aquatint to experiment with tonal values. Lastly, we will explore all three methods learned on our final plate. In four weeks, gain the skills you need to manipulate three copper plates and create an edition of your own original artwork.

Trained in printmaking and painting at the University of Maine, Orono, Elise has been working with copper etching and monotype tequniques to create layered, dynamic, texture-based imagery fused with classic icons to open a dialog on mental health, interpersonal relationships and societal expectations.
