Over the course of five weeks students will touch on the basics of color theory while utilizing a broad palette of oil-based etching inks and non-toxic etching methods to manipulate copper plates. Students will create three of their own plates, which will then be used in collaboration with the rest of the class to layer imagery and register color as a means of creating dynamic prints. Experience with basic etching techniques necessary.

Trained in printmaking and painting at the University of Maine, Orono, Elise has been working with copper etching and monotype techniques to create layered, dynamic, texture-based imagery fused with classic icons to open a dialog on mental health, interpersonal relationships and societal expectations.
