Open Call for Artists:

In collaboration with For Freedoms and The Red Record Collective, we are thrilled to announce an open call for artists to participate in our upcoming exhibition, RANSOM: Exploring the Edges of Appropriation (ON VIEW October 20 - December 12, 2018.)

Together, we aim to create an exhibition of work that explores the concept, implications, questions, and ramifications of appropriation in a broad sense. Artists may choose to explore the theme via cultural appropriation, land and public policy appropriation, language, style, resources, etc. as well as wrestle with who benefits or profits from appropriation, if, how, and when appropriation is harmful, what its consequences are and how that may differ across the landscape of personal, societal, political identities and beyond.

We are explicitly seeking artists that represent a diverse range of thought, experience, and background. We particularly encourage artists who seek to challenge power, privilege, and oppression to apply.
